Project Description:
In support of our customer’s efforts to increase capacity on their continuous caster Globex Group was tasked with providing detailed design for the tundish cars on the casting platform used to move tundishes into the casting position.

Characteristics:

Hydraulic fluid is used on the car for the following functions:

1. lifting and lowering tundishes
2. horizontal movements
3. operations with casting steel
4. Removal of tube changer stopper rod

Project Phases:

• Detailed Design for equipping the tundish car
• Detailed Electrical design for new equipment
• Detailed Electrical design for integrating new and existing equipment
• Detailed Civil Design and modification to casting floor layout
• QA during Installation
• Start-Up
• Testing
